End of an Era! Homemade Thanks to Two Housing Volunteers

March 10, 2021

There’s nothing like a handmade rug to make a home feel cozy, so what better way to thank two tireless volunteers for their service to affordable housing than with a gift of handmade rugs?

Harlene Holm and Guy Marion dedicated countless hours over the past 12 years as board members of the Denman Community Land Trust Association (DCLTA). In appreciation for their community service toward the Pepper Lane seniors’ affordable housing project, Donna Millen donated two of her handmade rugs – one for each of them. Concha Dennis donated two of her handmade booklets, in which community members wrote messages expressing their thanks.

Due to pandemic protocols, there was no formal presentation of the rugs and booklets. Instead, Donna and Louise Bell made surprise deliveries to Harlene and Guy – a lovely way to thank two people who have given a tremendous amount of time and expertise to the betterment of our community.
